I've not seen it either. Maybe other snacks. Then again, when on school basketball teams I didn't understand why they gave us orange slices in the locker room at half time. Partly because I was like 15, partly because I got very little playing time and had no need for an orange.

I have had cut up oranges, pineapple, and hot soup and pastries. Most of the time I have pulled a granola bar out of my dry bag and drank a bottle of water.

My experience has been that bananas seem to be the snack du jour most frequently, and we'll take our own if we know that the dive op doesn't.

Oh boy, here we go again...

Bananas + Boats = yet another banana boat thread

I've had fresh pineapple on several dive boats. Happens every day trip on my "regular" boat: M/V Kyalami from Jupiter SCUBA Diving.

Fruits yes, pineapple I don't recall....watermelon is a usual staple...me, I bring Tootsie Pops for the boat

Pineapple is traditionally associated with hospitality....perhaps they are serving it as a sense of "welcome".

Mangoes in the Philippines.

NAD/Lembeh - fresh mangos and pineapple every dive, and meal except breakfast. And Milo, of course.

I have seen a fair amount of pineapple as well. One trip with oranges and one with watermelon. Pineapple is my favorite and as @uncfnp and @NelleG said, the juice seems to cut the salty dry mouth and when an experienced cutter wields the knife, you can get a lot of pieces out of a single fruit.

I also had a hint of a queasy stomach one day and my body seemed to crave the pineapple. My lead suspicion is that my body felt comfortable with it. But maybe I needed something that it had and my body knew it. *shrug* it did seem to help but no real idea as to why.
