Undercurrent had an article recently about a dive op in Hawaii, Scuba Shack, that bans peeing. Here is a reader's response:
konasdad:This is pretty funny to see this again.
A few days after this came out in Undercurrent 2 friends and I were at the Scuba Shack checking in with them for a 2 tank dive the next day. Charlie (the owner) was there and some how during the conversation the comments came up. I know that I didn't bring it up because I didn't know anything about it before then. Well, for the next 10 minute or so we were just there listening about the carpeting on the decks and the smell and and and... He wasn't just talking about the rental wetsuits but everybodies. Finally, he mentioned that then next day the crew would tell us about this and that we would have to agree or forget about going. We were certainly not expecting that and we were somewhere between dumbfounded and amused.
The next day we got on the boat and went to Molokini and then off Makena with no further thought about peeing in our wetsuits. Not one word about it from the crew and I even forgot to keep track of my pee!
Of course later that night we remember the rant and had a good laugh about it again.
It was and still is worth a good laugh from time to time.
