Gang,

Yes, I know we've discussed the pros and cons of this for years. I'm still a firm believer that there are two kinds of divers:

-Those that pee in their wetsuit.

-Those that lie about peeing in their wetsuit.

That aside, I believe it's a good to be able to do this for one very important reason:

-It means you're relaxed.

Yes, that's it. There is nothing to make your dive any more enjoyable than being relaxed. Your air consumption goes down, your bouyancy improves and you spend your time looking at the reef, fish, and lobsters rather than your gear and other divers.

If you're relaxed enough to take a whiz at 70 feet, you're a pretty relaxed diver. Plus you don't have to deal with the discomfort of a full bladder for the next 45 minutes.

I did 1:24 at 75 feet this past week at Palancar Gardens in Cozumel. I think I peed four times during that dive.

Cheers!

-Charles

Peeing in a 7ml that fits well is actually pretty unpleasant. It can be hard to flush all the pee out of your wetsuit. If I have to pee, I will of course, but I prefer not to.

I've done that numerous times, and never found it to be unpleasant. It usually flushes okay by then end of a dive, and the rinse gets the rest of it. Just don't eat asparagus before diving.

Just remember not to do it when you are wearing a drysuit... .
Done that too. Now THAT is unpleasant. :confined:

Why not. thats what the P-valve is for:D

I refuse to pee in my wet suit and I wont wear a rental. The smell between and after dives coming from people who do is just rank. Nothing like watching someone pour urine our of their boots at the end of the diving:11:

>Just remember not to do it when you are wearing a drysuit...

Would that make it a semi-dry?

But in the end, it makes you colder. For the record, I pee in my wesuit on every dive, I even rate my dives by how many times I pee'd :rofl3: (I know, I know, TMI :rofl3: )

It doesn't make you colder in the long run. There is a constant exchange of water in and out of a wetsuit. The wetsuit doesn't prevent fluids from getting in or out, it just slows the process.
