I'm not an instructor... but I've taken a few courses and ?
It's You would have been trained on the Nitrox 32 and 36 tables and would have a set of RDPs for Nitrox.

So....
- did you get a green book about Nitrox from Padi?
- Did you learn to check the tank with a meter?
- Did you learn to use the Nitrox (or EAN) 32 /36 RDP?
- Did you take a PADI test and turn in copies of your Knowledge Reviews?

PADI course covers use of nitrox to 40%,not just the 32-36 table.Use the EAD table and a standard PADI air table to plan dives. Also learn to keep track of O2 exposure.

You are free to do as you wish..... however....

Do you really want to spend $2500 to $5000 USD to go to court over a $100 course and $50 USD of materials?

You catch more flies with honey than vinegar..... being demanding and threatening doesn't encourage shop owners to work with you. It encourages them to batten the hatches and weather the storm.

First thing to do is to stop, breathe, relax, and then think before acting. While you are worked up and pissed off is not the time to talk to the shop or anyone else. Go do something you enjoy, forget about it for a few days, and then come back to it.

Egypt isn't exactly the wild west and my impression has always been that they ran a virtual military state..... I've not been there so I could be very wrong, but I doubt anyone would risk punishment in a muslim country by committing $150 of fraud. Islamic law and Islamic influenced law tends to be rather harsh by Western standards. It's not wrong, that is what they have chosen... I'm just pointing out that minor crimes are pretty unusual from my understanding..... and "ripping you off" over a course is pretty minor.

My money is on you having taken a Nitrox familiarization course that was cheaper but not a certification.

As for materials..... every business has the right to act how it wants. Personally I think the way most LDS' run their stuff is silly.

I'd charge $200 for the course including materials. If you want to bring your own, go for it, but you'll have an extra set from us that we know is correct and that matches what we are teaching. Charging $100 for the course, $15 for the PIC and $85 for the video and book (in this hypothetical example) is simply nickel and diming someone to get around the "Hey this is expensive" issue. It's weak salesmanship at best.

I knew I might have forgotten to mention something. Thank you for pointing that out. Just goes to show what you cover in a course and what you remember off the top of your head are two different things. I focused on the critical skills that I remember when someone says Nitrox. But you are right up to 40% is valid.... just alot more restrictive... and I let the computer keep track of gas exposure because it's better at it then I am. :)

"and "ripping you off" over a course is pretty minor".

Of course. It' s almost nothing if u compare with others situations.

But... why those rich owners of those diving centers won on make this? Ok, they got my money...

They are not very inteligent as I can eventualy gave suport to some powerfull people whom don't like egyptians at all and just want they out of EU' s area, specialy Schengen area (UK is not on Shengen area).

They (the pretty rich owners of egyptian diving centers that ripped me off) are able to see just whats are right in front of they (like few tickets of 100 euros), but they cannot make some simple exercice as thinking about they fellow egyptians that still live in Europe and still needing to live and working in Europe.

Also Europe didn't educate properly some former egptian emigrants whom lived in Europe for long time. Now they are part of the richest people in Egypt but dosn't act to change the big cancers of egyptian society. Insted now they are insiders that gave plenty of suport for the same society that on the past dosn't gave they any oportunities and compled they to emigrate.

Why should Europe gave suport to those kind of imigrants?
