It all comes down to DEPENDABILITY period

OK, since my complete off the cusp statistic is that 98% of regs out there would qualify as dependable, what the next criteria?

Good point!

OK. So, what about the A.F. kit for the SP MK25. Does that bring it up to the level of the APEKS for cold water?

I'm less concerned about servicing since my LDS carries both.

Not as good cold water but not that bad. Do you ice dive or ocean/sound dive during the winter in CT.? Then it may be a consideration, if you just dive the cold NE spring thru fall I'm sure the MK25 will suffice.

*Floater*:
can you get a service manual and rebuild kits for them?
I couldn't tell if Floater meant this rhetorically or not, but I'd love to know the answer. Can you get a service manual and rebuild kits for Atomic regs?

We just bought some Atomic regs. I don't have plans to service them myself now, but I'd be interested to know if it's a possibility.

No. he is serious. We don't know the source yet. Even though you find the source for the part, you might want to get at least four sets for each reg to secure your DIY plan.

You might get the part off the internet (ebay) if Atomic can get the huge market like ScubaPro or Apeks later. But, I don't want any hassle by then.......

Atomic is pretty much parts/manuals for dealers only. You may find a dealer that would "help out" but that is it.

Yeah I know I'm from Oceanic but my wife used to rep for Atomic for awhile...

Chad,
Thanks for the info about Zeagle regulators. Basically, it sounds like Zeagle mixes all designs piece by piece from other major brands. So, what model is the best performance one in your line?

Are you Zeagle man?

Zeagle FL Sales rep.

Top performers: Warm water - Flathead XP. Cold water - Flathead VI. Both Testers Choices and Muscle Regs.

Best performance in their class, under $350 and $300 MSRP respectively: Envoy Deluxe and Envoy.

Chad

Herman, you aren't really old, are you? (But your regulator is getting there!)

I was serious.

If someone can hook me up with a Atomics reg service manual, or a copy of one, then please drop me a PM.

By the way, when I bought my first regs, dive-rites, one of my main reasons for doing so was that the company offered their service manual as a free download, and based on it their regs should be super easy to service (though I have yet to verify this by servicing them).
