Depending on their age the Zeagles are Apex. Until recently Zeagles were relabled Apex regs. My Zeagle actually came in an Apex box.

So, Zeagle is still getting the reg. from Apeks or from others?

I dunno, I'm not a tech diver, but when I had an Apeks it worked great. I just happen to have Atomic now. Which I like better... :D

Atomics are the new black...

All the cool kids are using them now...

Just wonder why most tech divers, prefer Apeks reg than Scubapro S600.......etc?

Thanks.:D

I actually own a Scubapro Mk25 S600 Set, Great Regs for Warm Water. But while Ice Diving no matter how I tried to control my breathing, I would get not a minor, but a massive freeflow. I also noticed while manning the hotwater jugs that most of the Regs I was unthawing for other divers were Scubapros(mostly Mk25's). I tried another Divers Sherwood Blizzards and did not even get a mild Freeflo(was able to complete a 40 minute Dive). I also noticed that divers with APeks DS4 were not needing there Reg's to be unthawed, nor did I see any Freeflows from them. Most Tec Divers I talked to recommended the Apeks.

I now own 2 sets of ATX50/DS4's as I move into Tec Diving. I still have the Scubapro, I use them on Vacation in Warmer waters.

i think ("think" being the key) that they designed their own regs, borrowing hevily from the familiar Apeks design.

As your question presupposes a falsehood, it has no answer...
You a pollster or something?

My understanding is Zeagle now makes their own regs based on an Apex design.

Yeah, but it is so pricey compared to SP and Apeks.

I have two double sets, Apeks ATX100s and MK25AF/G250HPs. I admit that SP MK25AF/S600 is more sensitive to the cold water, but MK25AF/G250HP is perfectly working fine in the cold water. I have dived with SP MK25AF/G250HP at 38~39 degree without any troubles. I used to use MK25AF/S600 as a single reg. at 42 F range. As I post, there are many factors to decide the regulators. SP needs a lot of tools and parts depending on the models compared to Apeks. That is, you have to get the part and tool separately. It is all cost and PITA to the divers. So, it is only a performance matter. In performance wise, I can’t say any difference between Apeks and SP based on my experiences. Maybe, it might be different story at more than 200ft or 32 F water though…..

Don't get me deeper in hock with Scott, I owe him already...I said based on, not copied. :)

Tech divers use Apeks because they're sheepish followers like any other group.
