Or, is it that DIR is a special "no trolling zone" where fines are doubled?

I'm mystified....

I never cease to be amazed at the things that I obviously don't have enough information about to properly understand....

Guys, with all due respect, I think Pug is right.

I think most people would agree - there's a difference between, say, questioning split fins or pony usage, and saying "I will be doing a DIR trip and will require the DIR chicken and rice so as to not upset the normal gastric flora and potentially place my jejunum out of trim."

One is a legit question, the other is just mocking DIR. And THAT is a troll. It's pretty hard to troll the Florida divers forum (I don't know... "Do you need to take a gun underwater to protect yourself from gangs when you dive near Miami?") or other forums on this board.

Genesis:
One man's troll is another's honest question.

I agree with the above quoted text... And, this is one reason why I asked....

It seems to me that in order to determine if something is a troll, one must determine the intent of the [post/thread] originator, at the time of submittal (as opposed to using hindsight).

Also, it appeared that the DIR forum was being singled out, rather than folks being reminded of a rule already on place board-wide. Is the suspension also board-wide? (A Rhetorical question...I do not desire an answer...)

Because I am the king of TIR and it stands for;

Tilling It Right

Bottom walkers, mud manglers, sand slingers and such really should check out my system.

No problem with vis as there is no vis to start.
Visability just gets in the way of getting the work done as the divers keep looking around.

For the ultimate in Tilling you use a team of two divers.
Red diver has a jet nozzle and Green diver has a dredge. This is an unbeatable combination for moving the muck.

Oh, I better tell you before anybody gets upset.
TIR is a commercial diving system, not for sport use.
This post is a silly one, not for serious consideration.

I better go to the support section to see if we can get the smileys back. I know that they exist but I liked the pick box. In absence of that how about a simple, downloadable, printable list?

Back under my bridge.

Bob3:
What do ya get when you combine sports, politics, & religion ...

Rec.scuba?

Bob3:
A REAL diver would be able to handle both at once. :eyebrow:

If it is the little nozzle on a 3 HP pump and a 3" or 4" dredge like you get from Keene.

The big hydraulic dredge from Stanley will keep a diver busy, especially if there is any chunky stuff in the bottom.

Hmmm, we could also pump a little concrete in there also. That is good for turning the water into a milkshake. :D

I think it's a rule for the entire board, but a DIR forum tends to attract a large amount of people who are there just to mock something, so it's tolerated less and explicitly recommended against.

I assume your speaking of both sides of the aisle on that one. Actually I'm very happy that there is a DIR forum now, it makes it easier to try to avoid pointless threads. I only wish the system would automatically flag any post with "DIR" in it and move it there.

The problem with this is that one person's troll is another's honest question or opinion.

Only with a view into someone's mind can you be certain what they were intending.....
