What can I say? I'm a Wile E. Coyote fan. Road Runner/Coyote cartoons were always my favorites back when they had cartoons instead of advertisements before the movies.

Anybody else here old enough to remember those days?

My first name is Carrie and seems as though that was a popular name the year I was born...I know quite a few Carries and actually have a few as close friends.
When we are all together it gets a bit confusing when someone says, "hey Carrie..." and we all turn around. We tried going by middle names but that got confusing and we'd forget...especially after a few coctails...;)
Carebear stuck...and hey, its kind of warm and fuzzy and I like it :)

women like warm and fuzzy crap like that.

Guys on the other hand dont. In highschool I had a class with 4 other Jason's in it. Teacher called Jason and 5 of us answered.

Nobody called me Jasonbear, Jasondoll, or Jasonsweetie..

I dont really remember how we settled that situation....but I think I was called.. Jasonyoustudofaman

highly doubt jasonyoustudofaman was the last nickname settled on
maybe more along the lines of jasonscynicalcuzhesnotgettingany

Hey i knew alot of carries too, but it doesnt seem to be that common overe here

I picked my name ooo, about 12 years ago (at the tender age of 9), when I first started using computers online (well, BBS and peer-2-peer modeming!) I always liked the whole symbolism of the Phoenix
it started out as Pheonix due to the inability of IRC networks to handle two people with the same nick!, after a while i got a bit fed up of everyone telling me i didnt know how to spell it, but pheo (pronounced fe-O) stuck as a short version, infact a few teachers when i was at school and people at work now call me Pheo lol!

has a bit more relevence these days, the whole getting knocked down and picking up the pieces and starting again seems all to common being an adult now, lol

Newtonian Physics (specifically the 3rd one) + Glock 23 = Instant DPV.

No, j/k. The nick refers to another one of my hobbies.

I graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1985. USNA85 is the technically correct abbreviation, but no one other than service academy grads would understand...almost everyone recognizes the "Army-Navy" game, but few would recognize "USMA-USNA", and the rest would yawn.

Since I have been part of the US Navy all my life (as a dependent, college, active duty and reserve) and it relates to water, thought it would be a good fit for a SB nickname.

when diving in southern california for any length of time :cold:

no, really, my birthstone... and I like how it sounds.

sapphire

Mine is just a knock on my last name......shortens it up and makes it sound cool =-)
