ChrisM:
Yep, so far I'm being ignored. too bad, would love to get a dive in up there, but as of now it's not working out.

A fairly common problem in many areas. I have had the same kind of "response" in Texas, Nevada, Indiana and California when trying to set up dives while on a trip. Too bad.:(

That's what I'm wondering.

Southeast Alaska is so much prettier! Fairbanks is 360 miles inland, and kinda ugly =p

So when are you changing your Board Name?:shakehead

I'm actually going to be in Anchorage for one night mid August. I'm only there overnight-- getting in around 2:00pm. I only have a 7mm wetsuit (with hood, etc.). Is there an opportunity for a quick cheap dive, or do I need more time and a dry suit? What kind of water temps are we looking at?

Snowbear (or any Alaska divers),

I am going to be in Anchorage and Valdez at the end of September and into October. I really want to do some shallow diving around icebergs because it looks so cool. I was hoping for an experience like this guy is having:

I have talked to a boat operator in Valdez (Dean Cummings of H20) who said he could take me out to Columbia Glacier. Any thoughts? (is the visability okay, will we have trouble finding icebergs, will I getting eaten by a shark, do you want to come?) Thanks.

Pat
