There he is, Ladies and Gentlemen! Let's give a warm round of applause to.....

the only person who showed up to vote for the Apathy party in last year's elections!

started out as a very serious question but got got hosed when the moderators played with it.

I would never deny anyone their fun, I think we need more of it here as in most of life, so I really didn't complain.

I thought it was interesting that various segments and personalities who espose or teach DIR techniques disagree on certain things (prime example being break-aways on bolt-snaps, where G3 says tie them all on and most GUE instructors are teaching tie-wraps or odd setups made with o-rings).

Someday, I'd like to see this discussed further but with the atmosphere being hot (again) regarding DIR things, it'll have to wait.

I question the difference in tieing them on, tie wrapping, or o-rings.

I believe the idea is to have a soft connection, where it can be cut away if nescessary.

I think as long as it is not a metal to metal connection and can be cut away this would serve the purpose

and be DIR compatable

as far as the pole goes I think it added an important factor to the whole issue.

most of the people on this board anyways get their DIR/GUE information from UNCLE PUG.
this is very important to realize as I have been stating lately you should consider your source. this proves that even unwillingly he is teaching people the DIR/GUE way

not that it is bad, but we all know the others, their background and qualifications to be able to stand on thier soap box and preach.

there's a big difference in that one is much more likely to be accidentally released than the other.

The other difference is simply to see which person's version of DIR is more universally believed in.

It's just something I wanted to know.

ok I am listening

which one is more likely to be released easlier

I have used all three, I like the tie on method the least

Here is the perfect opportunity for you to seize the moment and start a thread.

Choose an appropriate forum and then ask the question in a new thread.

Don't give your answer right in the beginning.... just let folks throw their opinions into the ring.... and then at some point introduce your own ideas.
