Who has NEVER had something stolen in Bonaire?

Just got back about 2 weeks ago. First trip. Nothing stolen. There are reports in Bonaire Talk about break-ins in their apts or condos, even breaking in the safes. This is sad because I have met nothing but the kindest, warmest locals while there. Already planning on another trip back.

One week long trip. Stayed in a resort (Divi Flamingo). Only one dive that we required a truck. It was the City Pier and was a night dive. No problems. No thefts. The Bonairians (?) I met seemed like good folk.

3 trips, about 32 days total, no problems.

Been there once for 10 days. Nothing stolen. We did follow the suggestions of leaving the truck unlocked etc. Where we were though, a friend caught someone breaking in while she was sleeping.

been to Bonaire 4 times for a total of 8 weeks. Nothing stolen but certainly doesn't mean anything about the future. Will be back in March and will remain cautious. love the place & diving but the petty theft is maddening. Seems like theft issue is getting worse.
really find it puzzling. don't know why this issue appears bigger here than other islands I have been. So far hasn't stopped my going back.

Just got back, 7 days, shore diving on every single one except the 18th when Dean made conditions untolerable.

Nothing stolen, and we locked the car each time (didn't know it was wiser not to at the time)

The format of the first post specifically indicates that you're been to this island, not sure why those folks posting that they'd never been there, it wasn't specified if you'd been there, etc didn't see this.....

Three times, fourth time coming up.

Had a bottle of suntan lotion nicked (big deal) but more worryingly woke up our last morning to find someone had pulled back the undercover of the wheel well and drained 2/3rds of a tank of gas.

Been going to Bonaire now for over 20 years. Have NEVER had a problem.
I do however take precautions and am very picky about where I stay.
