never been there, nothing stolen.

Seems that those of us that have not been there could really invalidate the poll data, but it doesn't qualify that we have to have been there... <shrug>

Total of three weeks on the Island - zero problems!

Leaving for Bonaire Friday-will report back!

Drew

Been there once (last year) and I had no problems. I'm booked again for Oct 7-13 this year.

I did read on the Bonaire Talk page where some people have had problems with stuff being taken out of their rooms in the last few weeks. This is the first I've actually heard of a first hand account of something being stolen.

Should be asking the same question about curacao.
Been to curacao 3 times.
The first time no problem, the second time $400-$500 stolen out of truck.
The latest in march of this year, they broke into our condo in the middle of
the night and stole $4000 worth of stuff.

We were warned about that while there in April too. The fact that our apt. complex was better secured than some minimum security prisons (8' steel gate, bars on every door/window - locks/padlocks on doors/gates) should've been a clue also.

And this was out west in Lagun - not exactly a hotbed of criminal activity. Nothing was stolen but we locked everything up tight, even the vehicles in the "compound" at night. We were told not to dry gear on the patio unattended.

In contrast to Bonaire where I accidentally left my camcorder between the truck seats for about 4 hrs parked downtown with the windows wide open. And although warned about leaving nothing in the truck while diving, by the end of the week I was.

Curacao just seemed so much grittier also. And more rundown in general.

Three times, nothing stolen.

If you've been to Bonaire please vote.

Post the number of times you've been to Bonaire also.

The format of the first post specifically indicates that you're been to this island, not sure why those folks posting that they'd never been there, it wasn't specified if you'd been there, etc didn't see this.....

I just added "If you've been to Bonaire please vote." today since I left it open to interpretation previously.
