I do not see why a person who habitually acts to correct misinformation should be disqualified as a moderator. Is a moderator supposed to sit back and be silent when misinformation is being presented?
Exactly. The subtle difference is which side of the fence and whether you get promoted to be a mod or accused of being a cyber bully / troll / stalker.
IMO someone who takes it upon himself like that (myself included) should *NEVER* be a moderator.
Other problems also bring counseling.
I am a living example that SB counseling by mods DOES work. I was counseled to "not take it personally," "cool off," and "take some time off from SB for perspective." Now their counseling didn't work the first (or second, or third, or fourth time...) but (I think) that it eventually did work since I am not getting counseled so regularly any more...
