Yeah, that's the part I don't like...
Last time I dove there I had a good time but my bad knee hurt for weeks.

I will still stay on the fence on this one for now. Would LOVE to see you all but I'm leaning toward a nice safe site (read: boring lol) where I can test out the BP/W I just bought and try and get my gear/weighting settled.

We shall see...

OK...I get it's a challenging entry/exit. Is it worth it if conditions are decent? as far as stuff to see? Thanks Nick :) also thanks for the map L !!!!

Greg

I only dove there once, and viz wasn't that great so I dunno how good the site could be. I remember lots of structure and of course there's the hot vents.

I'm sorry though, I now I come off negative when anyone mentions rocks but that's my iffy knee talking there. Rocks give me a real bad time and it took several months before I could walk normal the last time I screwed it up.

That all being said, I been wanting to do White Pt. again because it seemed like it could be promising. Just every time I think of going there I just remember those damn rocks lol. The good thing is the cove you enter through is fairly well protected and the one time I dove there the surf was minor at best.

This site is very interesting with lots of structure if the vis is good it will be a great dive.

Heh, I have three urchin spines in my hand still....hoping my body will reject them sometime soon!

If conditions aren't looking like they're gonna be great, let me know what "boring" site you go to and I may be interested in joining....White Point is a cool site, but not worth it if I'm going to face plant and stick myself with urchins again!

Oh, and for Sideways, here's some more info on White Point. Link 1 and Link 2. Apparently the main attraction is the warm water vents....I haven't really looked for them, but the rocky reef area is really cool, imo.

I've only made two dives at White Point but I'd agree with John. The viz was decent, with a fair amount of structure and a variety of sea life. The rocky entry is a little of a pain just cause they can jab through your boots and make it hard to balance while walking, but it's only for a minute, and the cove is protected so not really any surf. Most of all beach diving has some drawbacks, but it's not bad diving for basically free! I'd be there this weekend if I didn't have family plans.

Dont you have to pay for parking????? If so how much....

White Point has become a favorite of mine! The rocks can certainly be a pain, but no hikes up and down the cliffs, unlike other PV dives. And, it's close, at least to me! I took these pictures last Wednesday there. The viz wasn't great, maybe 10' (?) but there's still plenty to see! I'd join you guys, but I working all weekend. :depressed: Have fun, though! Oh, and parking is $6.

Get Jamie to go with you! He'll take you out the reef that's further out!
