Here's two from the Whiskey Wreck. Its a genuine shipwreck that just happened to be run aground on the sandbar by a 'cane in 1906 and overtaken by surf. She currently sits in 16' of water about 150m off the beach. Today we had waist-thigh high surf and better so we had to contend with alot of surge and the garbage being thrashed about to go with it.

Cool 'hair' eh? ^^^

Below is an example of visibility we had to contend with...

After the Whiskey Wreck, we headed to Orange Beach, AL and dove the Alabama Point Jetties. Vis was slightly better and we dove at deeper depths so surge wasn't as big an issue. Slightly better results.

Some of you may recognize the fellow above as another ScubaBoard photographer :) I'm sure he'll post shortly with validation for a strobe - LOL.

Hmmm, SeaYoda right?
I'd recognize that Hydroptix mask anywhere.

Nice pics especially of the crab

And of the?? I like how the photo is nicely lit.

Thanks for sharing :).

I think its some kinda featherduster, definately a tubeworm of some sort though. That pic was taken fairly shallow so I had alot of help from the sunlight and a bit added help from the internal flash.

Definately the 'Yoda :)

Glad you enjoyed!

Looks like hydroids. And that's the first I've heard of diving in Alabama. Is it mostly sandy bottom?

You're probably correct, I'm not too familiar with those little guys.

Mostly sandy bottom, but there is some deeper limestone reef(Trysler Grounds for the most part). Lots and lots of artificial reefs, intentional or otherwise.

My favorites are of the handsome man with the bubble eyes :D.

Great shots especially considering the conditions we were in.
