Haha okaaaaaay, but if you do a shore dive with the current, have an exit in mind. Returning into it can be a challenge.
Your right Don, but I have never had a problem with current on a shore dive. I have done hundreds at Coz. One just needs to navigate it properly.:D

Lighten up Gord, it was a joke. Trust me I've been tempted.:eyebrow:
Without a smiley one can never be sure; I have a friend who once wanted me to pass him a reg while he was snorkeling around me, and he got a little snippish with me when I declined.

I bet snorkelers always want divers to pass them their regs.

Heck what do they know, in their mind it's a free pass to the undersea world. No strings attached.

Hey T.O.- My wife snorkels all over while I'm diving. She never needs to know the currents as it does not ever affect her while shore snorkeling. Even shore diving at Villa Blanca and north of that is not really affected that much by current.
You have a great question but you dont really need to worry about the currents at least in the sense to your question. kev
Actually, I'm planning a boat dive/snorkel combo trip. So I'd like to know, to plan for where we might want to have SI, or be dropped off after the dive. Of course also to satisfy my curiousity.

I see you're from Edmonton. Stephen Harper at first didn't know that Niagara Falls flows from south to North. He thought it was the other way.

For the American friends, Harper is Canada's PM. Hmm, for the American friends, PM means Prime Minister. Hmm, for the Americans, Prime Minister is head of the governing party, in the Parliamentary system. Hmm, for the American friends, the US has a presidential system, while Canada (and most of the democracies in the world) has a Parliamentary system. Hmm, for the American friends, while I'm at it, and having fun. Canada is the country above the US.:D

Some Ops do surface intervals on the boat at times and at abandoned docks at others, while some will pull into beach clubs, and the southern resorts will go back to their own docks for SIs. Do you know who you are diving with? You will surely be taken back to where you are picked up, be that your hotel or other arrangements.

Many don't know that the Niagara River with Falls flows south to north...

Or that the Panama Canal is crossed from SE to NW from Pacific to Atlantic....

Do you have to stop in the US on the way? Here is a helpful video: A Message From Transport Canada Please arrive 3 days prior to your flight. :D

Did someone say the current doesnt effect you by the shore? I took fam to the money bar to snorkel a little. The guy said walk WAY up there and float down. We went part way and got in. Current was murder. REALLY should have listed to him. I had to hammer the first modelo just to recover. :burnout:

Nope, I don't think anyone said that. It can be challenging and devious. Good to check the buoys to see which way it's going but yeah the locals usually know. Only had it change on me once during a shore dive.
