My cave instructor wanted me to take trimix before full cave because the caves were deep. You're certainly not going to hurt yourself by doing AN/DP, and you can practice what you learned as you exit the cave. AN/DP is a lot about theory, and a bit about checking and handling your bottles. If you want to keep learning about diving stuff while you're gaining cave diving experience, it sounds like a good plan to me.
