which reg to keep?

unfortunately only have the funds to either dive or buy nice new equipment... i cant do both, so i am OK with older regs... plus i kinda like old stuff..

if i were budget reg shopping, what would you recommend that is a better reg than the conshelf?

There really isn't a better budget best buy than the Conshelf.
Others in the same ballpark are the Mares MR12 III and Scubapro MK5/10 109/G250......but for something you can buy on eBay and expect to work right out of the box you can't beat a Conshelf.
