Hello

I am planning on travelling to Asia and down into Oz and intend on doing quite a bit of diving along the way. I’m not planning on taking too much kit, just the essentials and backpacking most of the way. I am currently a DM and although I’m not looking to work, if I find the right place I might consider settling in for a bit.

I was wondering if anybody has any good suggestions on dive/travel insurance that is fairly budget. I don’t want to pay over the odds but need to be covered well enough! I’m based in the Uk if that makes a difference to companies.

Any help would be grateful

Two types of insurance I would recommend.

One is DAN. That will cover you trip wise and medical.

The other is equipment....go DEPP. (this is NOT the one recommended by DAN)

DEPP is well priced and they are so easy to work with in establishing your policy and adding gear. The one DAN recommends....IMHO....is a PITA to work with, I dropped them after the first year.

yup DAN for medical and DEPP for equipment, the very best way to go in my opinion also!!!!!
