There's no option for selecting two mixes - so I generally go with 40% at 27m then switch to 80% at 9m on the majority of deco dives. If it's a shallower and shorter dive I'll take down a 60% only.

I would most often use both 50 & 100... but I do some dives with only 100, therefore the answer to what single gas I use most often would be O2. Very occasionally I would use air (backgas) but not often

for those diving on a helium based bottom mix, are you keeping helium in your deco mix as well? Or when you say that I switch to 32% or 50%, etc., are we talking a straight nitrox mix?

Well, it's pity but I use air for deco most of the time. Availability is really a problem here as far as mixes are concerned. If I had my own way, I would take a 5 liters cylinder filled with Nitrox 50 for every dive below 40 meters. Tried it quite often, and found it the more convenient.

Dives requiring a single deco stage will normally be 50%. Dives requiring two deco stages will be 50% and Oxygen.

Keeps everything nice and simple and labelling is just a matter of marking the MOD on the cylinder and confirming the contents before each dive.

no
switch to nitrox 50 at 70 and then to o2 at 20'

Jeff, I think it depends on your profile. Alot of folks these days are using helium mixes relatively shallow, thus the need for a 32% mix is fairly low. If diving beyond 180 and anticipating long bottom times(and long deco) I think it would be a good idea to add helium to that deep deco mix. Switching to N2 based mixes relatively shallow(70') shouldnt be an issue, thus many use ean50 starting at that depth(no switching to N2 before 70), which is still more conservative than the "no switching to N2 before 130'" addage that was being thrown around in the past. I personally wouldnt switch to EAN32 at 130.

we use 35/25 or 30/30 as a 120 foot deco gas when the profile calls for it. no nitrox at those depths for me
