My wife and I are planning on going to Key West with another couple around Labor Day weekend (give or take a week.) We've been to the keys once and stayed in Tavarnier, but this time we're wanting to party a little more.

Does anybody have any suggestions for where to stay in Key West. We would like to stay somewhere nice. We'll stay 4 or 5 nights.

I don'thave ant suggestions but you better book quick. It is always jammed up on he weekends.

Hotel, motel and resort listings in Key West, Florida Keys. Lodging selections from luxury to budget accommodations.
Key West hotels, accommodations in Key West, hotels, motels and resorts in Key West, Florida

Be careful when booking hotels,:no make sure they are not out on Roosevelt Blvd which is several miles from downtown Key West and Duval St. Unless you do not mind taxi rides to get to where all the actions is:14:.

If you are driving to Key West parking downtown can be very expensive so make sure your hotel has parking included, many do not.:11:

We have stayed at Key Lime Inn, Almond Tree Inn, Southernmost, Curry Mansion Inn and Pegasus International Hotel.

Recently we have been using Key West Vacation Rentals - Key West Accommodations - Key West Hideaways in Key West, FL for some very nice accommodations with kitchen facilities.

We have stayed in the following and would recommend each. Island city house(not Island house which caters to gay men), seaport 1 and 2 formally called Nancy's, Ambrosia house. They are all located about 2-7 blocks from sloppy joes(as a reference point)

The Palms Hotel on White St. good rates and great location. If diving go with Southpoint Divers.

Great info so far!

Give me more first hand accounts.

We'll probably fly into Miami, rent a car and drive to KW. We want to party on Duval street, catch some rays and take the Dry Tortuga trip. Probably check out Mel's museum, maybe go back up the road and try to spot a Key Deer.

I'll be the only diver going, although the others would probably be up for snorkling.

All of the big hotel chains have pools and a shuttle bus but they aren't directly downtown (Old Town). Many of the smaller ones are in walking distance of Duval and do have pools. Expect to pay premium prices and book as soon as you can.

If you rent a car, be sure to stop by and tour the Turtle Hospital in Marathon (around MM 50). It is a rescue and recovery hospital for injured and ill turtles. Unfortunatly some can't be released but live happily in the pool. All admission fees go back into the program. It is well worth the $15 fee. You will need reservations.

Try the Galleon on Front St..It is an RCI resort and may have a time open for you.Has a pool and a small beach. We have a timeshare there and go every August when bug season opens. You can get a 2 or 3 bedroom unit complete with kitchen facilities.Best views in Key West there.
