Planning first weekend in January 2025 to visit Virginia Key / Biscayne. Anyone in the area diving this weekend?

My wife and I did Dry Tortugas in September, and on the way back we took our time through the keys. Here are some of the highlights from our surface time:

For topside activities the Dolphin Research Center (Dolphin Research Center · 58901 Overseas Hwy, Grassy Key, FL 33050, Vereinigte Staaten) in Marathon is Amazing. Florida Keys Aquariaum Encoutners (Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters · 11710 Overseas Hwy, Marathon, FL 33050, Vereinigte Staaten) have a number of touch tanks to experience different creatures. You can pet sharks and rays and such. They also have a mermaid show.

For coffee, I highly recommend Baby's Coffee (Baby’s Coffee · 3180 US-1 MM 15, Key West, FL 33040, Vereinigte Staaten) in Key West is awesome. Forks and Stix (Forks & Stix · 30945 Ave A, Big Pine Key, FL 33043, Vereinigte Staaten) on big pine key is a good spot for poke and sushi, though it is more a fusion restaurant than traditional. They're also family-owned, so that's a win.

Also if the surface-group wants to take a day and go to Dry Tortugas, its absolutly worth it. Amazing snorkeling. The best coral and fish we found is right at the Coal Dock (near where the ferry docks). The fort is crumbling into the ocean, which I found to be both spooky and beautiful.

Update
Booked several trips with Diver's Paradise the first weekend/week of January 2025.

2nd Lost Reef Adventures along with Captain's Corner. I usually bounce back and forth between depending on who is going to the Vandenberg. I spent a month down there awhile back and just lapped the Vandy over and over. Love that dive, and I wouldn't not go just because on air, and either shop will steer you right. I will be down in Largo for 10 days or so mid January hitting the Spiegel with Horizon as much as I can :)

@Jake 10 Looking forward to hearing about your trip!

I don't head down to the Keys much even though Key Largo is as close to me as Jupiter. I typically dive Jupiter/Palm Beach monthly. I should head down to Key Largo more. These various threads on the Keys helped me pull the trigger and I just finished booking a 4-day trip for June to Key Largo. Booked 10 dives over 4 days with Horizon. Looking forward to it!

The next time my wife and I head down to Key West I'll have to carve out a day to dive the Vandenberg.
