Hello -

I will be coming to Cape Hatteras for the first time to dive next month. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive motel? I will be all by myself and will only be coming to the motel to sleep so cheaper the better.

Thanks -

It depends where you mean when you say Hatteras, it is a long island with many places considered Hatteras. If you are headed to Buxton near the lighthouse I would recommend the Cape Pines Motel Cape Pines Motel, Hatteras Island, Outer Banks, NC. No frills, no beauty but a good cheap place to lay your head at night. Have spent many a night there.

Thanks so much. This helps.

If you are diving with us, JT or another operator that runs from Hatteras Inlet, get a room no further north than Buxton or your drive will be a pain. Buxton is just 15 up the road from Hatteras village where the boats are. If you really are looking to go as cheap as possible the answer is the Burris Motor Court. The info is on the web link already posted. Keep calling if no answer the first time or leave a mesage and they might call you back. Angie is great to work with there and will take care of you once you get through.

The diving in Hatteras has been really great lately. I hope your trip goes really well.
