Where to stay in Cozumel??

I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions as to where to stay in Cozumel.....??

I am looking for a upper class resort close to some onshore activities as well as a resort that permits shore diving at the resort.......

Any ideas?

Presidente Intercontinental is a pretty good hotel, probably the best on the island. The onsite dive operator has tanks for shore dives. It's just south of Paradise reef, perhaps 4 miles S. of town, so shore activities are always a cab ride away. Divers are a smaller percentage of guests than at Plaza Las Glorias.

Plaza Las Glorias is not quite as nice as Presidente, but is about a 10 minute walk south of town, and is right across from a supermarket (Chedraui sp??) and small mall. They have good lockers for dive gear, the onsite operator has tanks for shore dives.

The shore diving at Presidente Intercontinental is much nicer than at Plaza Las Glorias.
