So I need to nail down the last bits of our March 2010 trip to the Caymans...

We've got our flights booked - from Seattle all the way to Little Cayman (via Grand Cayman). 7 nights at Little cayman Beach Resort, booked. After our week diving on Little Cayman, we have two nights on Grand Cayman before we catch the flight home.

Our last diving on Little Cayman will wrap up Thursday by noon, and we'll off-gas late Thursday and much of Friday, before catching the Twin Otter hop over to Grand Cayman late Friday afternoon. Then we have Friday night, all day Saturday free, and then we fly out around noon on Sunday.

I'm looking for the right place to spend those last two nights (Friday & Saturday), and how to spend the day Saturday.

For a place to sleep...I'm looking to avoid complete sticker-shock, but would like someplace reasonably nice. I'm torn between looking for a B&B/less expensive motel-style place, or biting the bullet and heading for 7MB.

The wife wants to do Stingray City, so we'll surely do that. Not sure if we'll spend the rest of the day diving or not - having just come off a week diving LC we might be ready to just drive around and see the sights (such as they are). Or maybe we'll try to get in a couple more dives.

Suggestions for a decent place to stay? A good beach would be nice but is not absolutely necessary.

Love the title of the post! Mrs DS reads ScubaBoard too, so I'll have to refrain from any witty replies.

I've heard good things about Sunshine Suites, too. Also try Harbour View Apartments. We've stayed there many times and found them to be reasonably priced and superbly located at the base of SMB. As a bonus, we've actually dived off the Harbour View's beach and found it to be quite good, with corals, swim-throughs and tarpon.

I suggest sunshine suites. We put visitors to our office up at that place and have stayed there myself in the past!

Reasonably priced, located just the other side of the road from Seven mile beach and you have your own kitchenette to make meals of you wish to do so. Breakfast & wifi internet included.

Grand Cayman Lodging, Sunshine Suites Hotel and Resort

I am just coming back from GRAND CAYMAN and I have to say that SUNSHINE SUITES is great.
It seems that the hotel was Very friendly staff, free breakfast, central on 7 Mile beach.
It's not right on the beach but within a 2 minute walk and if you go there to dive, you don't care anyway.

Great place to stay with Rince tanks and lockers for dive equipment.
