Where to dive in October?

you got that right. you'll be past the "season" here, which
is april to september. however, if you can stand some 3-5
seas, you could probably do some nice diving still. the
water will be on the coldish side, but not too bad (high
70's early October, low 70's late October). the biggest problem will be the seas.

you basically have three options:

1. dive the springs near Jacksonville: Ginnie Springs, Blue Grotto, Devil's Den, Paradise Springs, Blue Spring, Alexander Springs, etc.

2. Go down to Ft. Lauderdale and dive the West Palm to
Miami shore diving capital of Florida.

3. Go even further to Key Largo and dive the boats off
Key Largo, Islamorada, and Marathon. you can make a
trip to Key West, but not much good diving there.
