Budget up here just raised the price of a pack of cigarettes to over 10 bucks. But the booze one is a real good idea :)

I had thought of starting a "socially incorrect" mutual fund. You know, with stocks in things such as alcohol, tobacco, and weaponry.

I'm sure those stocks are doing great right now.

Sorry Dr. Jay, someone beat you to it. The Vice Fund (VICEX) was started last year by Mutuals.com here in Dallas. I remember because a buddy of mine worked for them at the time. Kind of a gimmick, but probably holding up better than other funds. http://www.vicefund.com/
 
very short term...cash...when the final decision is made re Iraq....either stay or go....invest......

The best advice is contact a wealth mangement specialist and let them set up a decent plan. Make sure the plan has a min of 8 asset classes and does an automatic rebalancing on a daily,weekly, monthly or whatever it takes......
