Has anyone tried scubagaskets? Their website is very useful, but I don't have firsthand experience with their products.

Great list! Thanks for sharing!

I stole it from here dude mazing

Great guys ScubaGaskets, but really do you need to be led by the hand with orings

and get yourselves a white cutting board for contrast

Hi,

I'll be taking a class on regulator servicing and am in the process of putting together my workbench.
I was wondering where you buy your o-rings? Looking to get started with one of those kits containing a bunch of o-rings of common sizes in a little box with compartments. I'll be using service kits for the 1st and 2nd stages so it's for other stuff like hoses, spgs, transmitters, etc.

Thanks!
The O-ring Store, LLC is where I get most of my orings. Sometimes you have to buy a minimum, but costs are not bad. Order as much as you can at one time to minimize shipping costs.

What rhymes with kit

If you have Apeks regs I made this up a while ago. .pdf is attached, make sure when you print it you print at 1:1 scale, I also put a scale at the top to double check it printed correctly.

It might not take long to outgrow the premade oring kits, they tend to have lots of unneeded sizes and then not enough commonly used scuba orings. Making a custom kit is a solution.
I mostly buy from Oringsandmore and The Oring Store, with a few hard to find types from McMaster Carr.

Haha I basically have the exact same setup.

You might want to cross check your diagram against a measured kit. The AP1300 HP Balance plug seal to my inspection is a BS4518 151-16 (1.60x15.10). That means that a 1.5mm may be more prone to extrude in this HP application. But my measurements from actual kits may not be what Apeks specified. Unfortunately, I've never seen a company source document.

Similarly the AP1410 to my measurement is a BS1806 806 (1.78X11.10). While less critical in the LP port, it is a difference between your chart and my measurements.

I'm open to corrections.

Interesting. You are probably more correct than me I can not say with 100% confidence that I measured them very well. I made this chart years ago. Also I cant say that I service my US4's very often the are very neglected but they just keep working.

I have never seen a source document either.

I believe you slipped a line somewhere if I'm not totally off now. The BS0351-16 with it's 35.1mm strikes me as way too big.

I have not seen Apeks publish exact O-Ring sizes for most models. However they did publish it for their flight, along with a scale to print-out for other models. Taking electronic measurements from this print-out is not possible. These are off by a little, as can be measured for the flight O-Rings. Most Apeks O-Rings are EPDM 80, not NBR.

I guess the AP1300 O-Ring should be in the vicinity of an BS0161-16 (1.6mm x 16.1mm) BS4518 151-16 (1.60x15.10).
