Yeah, if I had the equivalent of dive gear express in Canada I probably would have just done that already. I was kindof excited to find a use for a gadget I had literally carried around with me for 25 years and several countries, but at this point I have to value the learning experience for the project to make sense.

Maybe a short hose would work better?
Yep, that's my current plan, which makes fixing the swivel less urgent.

That should give you time to sort out the odd o ring thing, this is the sort of thing that makes a pony handy for testing, real in water testing where you can see it.

I got some 70 durometer AS012 o-rings and the whole thing slid smoothly back together. At least on land it seems to hold pressure fine; I did a soap bubble test as my only tanks are aluminum 80s, not to convenient in the bath tub.

So I guess that's an important lesson for me. One cannot necessarily swap the an o-ring with one of the same size but difference stiffness.

70 durometer and dynamic HP does NOT work. The o ring will fail in a very short time. You do need 90 durometer.

Can you measure the o ring seat? Small diameter (on shaft), large diameter (body hole) and with (on shaft). Afterwards I can tell you what o ring size you need. Rubber must be NBR90=Nitril 90.

The shaft diameter is 0.375in. The body hole is 0.502in. The o-ring channel is about 0.070in. I'm using a cheap digital caliper. I'm fairly confident of the shaft diameter, a bit less for the other two.

9.525mm
12.75mm
1.778mm

O-ring 9.52x1.78. This is a standard size.
O-ring -012 is 9.25x1.78 this might work as well but is less perfect than 9.52x1.78

I have a swifel as well which needs 9.52x1.78.

And don't forget: NBR90, not NBR70
