Time to get some spring straps. I like the Halcyon connectors.... but are they THE straps to get?

I use turtle fins, and so my straps are only around 8". I understand you can cut the springs if need be to fit.

Where is a good source for the straps?

I have just ordered my via eBay:

This is the seller's home page:

I have decided to get it via this source with regards to some good comments other memebers posted on this board.:

Got my for USD35 + USD9.25 for shipping to Thailand.

It would cost me around USD70 to get the Halcyon one here in Thailand.

Now waiting for it to arrive.

I would go with wunat's website. I paid just over $70 for my Halcyon's. Wish I would have looked online first.

But by the time you replace the clasps that comes on the lesser expensive springs with the nice, well made clasps from Halcyon.... you're right up there with the original Halcyon price??

How do you all like the way Wunat's attach to the fin? Is it sturdy compared to the Halcyon?

I am happy with the halcyon. don't know how well the other's work. I have a black cloth material around mine. I suppose if you buy off brand it is buyer beware. Our LDS carries Halcyon otherwise I would probably have the rubber straps. The more stuff that comes out and makes diving easier is tops with me. I love just pulling the fins on and off and not having to adjust the straps.

Is there anything wrong with the Halcyon spring cover material? Is it better or worse than the plain clear tubing?

I don't know how comfy the clear tubing is on your booties, but the halcyon stays in place and is comfy. The springs don't move up or down. I use kinda thin booties that don't have the rubber on the back to keep your fins in place.

I just made my own. I got some of the tubular nylon from a sporting goods store in the rock climbing section. Springs from Mcmaster carr. All for less than $20.00

I bought my first pair from COCVI and were made by Manta. I made my second pair the same way in about 15 minutes and like them more... not to mention I like the blue webbing because it looks cool.

eBay. Where I get everything.
