I've got a 30' enclsoed trailer that I take to Huntington Beach every so often. Get there early in the AM, park it for the day and hang out 'til they kick us out. Unfortunately diving is not exactly spectaculat off the coast of HB.

So my question is, is there a beach somewhere between San Clemente and Malibu that facilitates trailer parking AND has good diving as well? Little Corona and White Pointe make for nice camping spots, but there's no way I'm getting my rig down there...

thanks all

You could always camp at San Onofre and then drive down to La Jolla to dive.

There are a couple places north of Malibu, with dive sites all along the coast near by.

You might want to check out Leo Carrillo State Park:

Leo Carrillo SP

Is this just for a day trip? You might want to call and see whether the parking will work for your trailer.

ya i was thinking a day trip but if i can make a weekend out of it all the better.

thanks for the heads up, i'll look into this one

It's a bit further north, but I have heard that there is good shore diving off of Refugio State Beach ( north of Santa Barbara). We have camped there in our motorhome, it is a lovely campground. We have not had the opportunity to dive there yet, but the surf is good. However, like most beach campgrounds in So Cal you have to make Resevations 6 months in advance.

As far as malibu, you could camp at thornhill broom and there is some good shore diving at Deer Creek , which is less thatn 2 min away, or nicholas canyon, about 10 min. away. There may be more in that general area, as there are lots of rock formations and kelp in that area....
Thornhill broom is about 5 min.north of leo carrillo, and the camping is right on the sand.
Neptunes Net has good chowder also....
