The Asian Countries That Beat Covid-19 Have to Do It Again

You may notice that the story mentions the fact that we all live in the same world. Unlike China they kept control, but everytime they release control they will have the same risk until enough people are immune.

Good article. Thanks for posting. Like nature dynamics, when you throw a rock into a pond, there would be ripples, which the waves would slowly get smaller.

Yes, but the problem is that the waves slowly get smaller because more and more people have become infected and either lived or died. The waves don't get smaller because we keep people from getting infected unless we come up with a vaccine that provides the benefits of being infected without the dangers. Yes I am aware that there is no "proof" that people once infected cannot get the disease again. If they can a vaccine is unlikely to help. But if people can get it again, as they age or have health problems they will eventually die of it. The world is large and this virus is unlikely to just disappear without reaching "herd immunity". For untold centuries American Indians were isolated from smallpox. None of them died of it because it wasn't here. When it came it killed a large percentage of the Native Americans. This virus is going to kill a bunch of us.

There is NO magic bullet in Hong Kong except we got the "news/rumur" from china quicker than anywhere else except Republic of China(Taiwan). Korea was not doing too well in the beginning but they mobilized quickly once they realized the mistake and outcome.
Once bitten(SARS) twice shy! History shall NOT be repeated.
It was amazing to see so many so called medical experts in the west literally written off the use of mask! So many deaths are unnecessary.

We have about 130 cases in the beginning of Mar and now it stands 930!!!!! Why? We imported them!

This virus is dangerous but certain irresponsible persons are more so. To suggest "herd immunity" is absolutely pathetic and stupid. With the total collapsed societies, there won't be any healthy medical personnel to take care of the sick.

SARS disappeared in 2003 and only made a very brief return in 2004. Perhaps the virus learn from the experience as well and came back with a vengeance with a mutated form ie. Wuhan version!

Similar in Taiwan, most all cases are imported. People are taking precautions, but we've not had to lockdown so far. Around 380 confirmed cases, and 5 deaths, a rate of 0.2 per million (so should be on the list above).

The positive thing is 100% of people entering the country are forced into 14 day quarantine, and so most cases who become positive are already in quarantine, not out and about in the general population. Then you have the few other cases which can be traced to a source, most often a family member or friend. People been wearing masks from the beginning, but of course not relaxing for a moment its easy for the virus to get a foothold if you get complacent.

@Dan Testing per capita is also relevant. Indonesia isn’t testing very many people per capita compared to the other places. The per capita testing might also skew the per capita fatality rate as well.

Yes. How about the increase in death rate?

My Balinese DM just update me through WhatsApp that since March the local government has limited work to only for the essentials, no diving. Many hotels and dive sites are closed. No tourism.

It looks like we may have the silver bullet to kill the virus (699 patients with 100% success). 5-day treatment with a cocktail of hydroxy chloroquine for tunneling through lung cells for zinc sulfate to enter the cells & kill the virus, and z-pak (antibiotics) for killing bacterial infection during the flu. These are old medicine for $20 cost / patient.

Dr. Vladimir Zelenko has now treated 699 coronavirus patients with 100% success using Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate, Zinc and Z-Pak [UPDATES] | Tech News | Startups News

Wow!
Two readily common drugs albeit azithromycin is on the expensive side in some countries.

Never got reported in our media or I had missed it.
