Looks like a midnight parrotfish... that can't be right...
 
Kinda looks like an anthias (or basslet, as they're called in some areas). I know they have serranids (grouper family) in the Med, but I dunno if they have anthiases. How big was it anyway? :06:
 
Aha, it's an african cichlid!
 
Sure looks like a cichlid to me. I have 12 of them in my aquarium now. Had one that looked very much like the one in the pick until my big gold male killed him in a fight over territory and breeding rights. coulda killed him, that was a 30 dollar fish. only thing saved him is he's worth 3 times that.
