Hi,
What is the difference between these 2 computers? It looks like the Mosquito can be set for different 02 concentrations. Is there any other difference?

Most people seem to own the Vyper rather than the mosquito - is there a reason for that?

It's a little cheaper? And has a bottom timer mode? Not sure of other reasons it's more popular - oh the display is supposed to be much better on the Vyper.

Not sure which one your leaning towards, but I've got the Mosquito and as far as I can tell, it's easy to use and see. Essentially they are almost identical... I just got the Mosquito because I 'could' wear it as a daily watch if I wanted to.

Hi,
It seems very strange that they would produce 2 almost identical computers, for an almost identical price.

Can anyone confirm that the Vyper has a better display? Obviously thats a big issue.

Darryl

The major difference is the size some people already have a dive watch or would just like something compact.

The mosquito also has freediving mode.
The yvper and the mosquito are both nitrox ready
The vyper can be used in guage mode only.
Vyper has a larger screen probably just a little bit easier to read.:)

One very big reason a lot of people have Vypers instead of Mosquito's....

The Vyper has been out for ages, the mosquito hasn't.

That said I have a mosquito (and a cobra) and I like the mosquito... it is definately a nice dive computer (IMHO) but I can also easily read the smaller display.

Though the Mosquito hasn't been around for long, I have yet to hear someone regret having one. The message above is common. The display really isn't bad, and the backlight is good too. The only issue I have is that the beeps are too quiet for me, but I guess I should be getting into the habit of checking it more often anyway. From what I have heard, the Mosquito is going to replace the non-titanium Stingers. (Another one almost identical to the Vyper and Mosquito!)

Virtually the same unit (same algorythms)...same features....just packaging differences

I have a Vyper which replaces an Oceanic prodigy, and have about a dozen dives on it.

The Vyper has (and Mosquito doesn't):
-Extended Decomp Range (ceiling, floor)
-Consumed bottom time graph
-Built in dive simulator
-Variable sampling intervals -Mosquito is fixed at 20 sec.

Mosquito has (and Vyper doesn't):
- a stopwatch mode!

Source: Sunnto or seaquest website, I can't remember which, but have the Downloaded PDF file.
I cannot attach it, because it is PDF!
