I really want to hear the DIR response for THIS situation. I'm told they practice for EVERYTHING that could POSSIBLY happen!

This is probably one of those times when you'd wish you'd bought a great big Rambo knife instead of the DIR style broken steak knife.
:D

Reading these responses was a great way to start the day out-- my daily laugh! All these people that say they would blend in or swim away are dreaming. Maybe the bottom half of their bodies would blend into the ocean floor as settles lifelessly down to the bottom. Anybody who thinks they could outswim a shark, especially one as big as that one appears in the picture (yes I realize it's fake), are living in a fairy tale. Those people are nothing but a small snack to that shark.:rofl3::rofl3:

I would inflate everything i have so that when i get to the surface.....i am one big bobber.....if i dont rocket myself onto the boat itself. As the saying goes...

."I dont have to swim faster than the shark, I just have to swim faster than my buddy" :)

You are right, with this type of shark you would not be able to blend into your surroundings; I'm just quoting what my dive instructor told us about swimming with a group of reef sharks and what to do when they start to get aggressive...

Now to change my post and really answer this question correctly and tactfully, I need to tell everyone what they should do and I learned it from a movie....

NOW LISTEN VERY CLOSELY BECAUSE THIS WILL SAVE YOU LIFE:

Swing around and carefully remove your BC while holding on to your buddy, then remove your tank from the BC, as the shark gets closer and opens his mouth toss this high pressure tank into his mouth. Remember to buddy share air off your parnters octo during this manuever. :eyebrow:

Wait for him to do a 360 degree turn and then pull out your spear gun and point it at the shark as he continues to chew on your tank; then as you pull the trigger remember to think in your mind since you cannot talk underwater; smile your son of a bit#$%... :rofl3:

Now this will only work if you are wearing an Aluminum 80 since this won't work with a HP steel.... :rofl3:

Okay I hope I made some of your laugh.....

MG

Hopefully you

Easy ... Dolphin kick and hit him in the vitals with my blunt nose.

Seriously. I've always thought that removing the BC and placing it between the shark and I as I ascend would be the best chance of avoiding the curios bite. I would think that the teeth on metal isn't going to be pleasant for him.
