Hey all,
Just curious what you all do with your older dive computers when you upgrade to newer models. I am upgrading my primary and backup computers and now I have two computer that won’t be used (trying to consolidate on the Bühlmann also). One is a 1 year old Cressi, so I imagine I’ll be able to sell that on. But the other is a 10 year old Oceanic Veo 180Nx, which I’m not sure is going to get much interest from anyone.

Throwing it away seems wasteful and not very environmentally friendly, so I’d like to avoid that if at all possible. So what do you do with a dive computer that you don’t use anymore and is too old to sell?

I would keep it on hand as a loaner, in case a dive buddy has a computer fail or to loan to new divers who don't have all their own. But I also have enough of everything but computers to loan out a full set of gear to a new diver. In fact, I could put the Veo to use in that capacity if you are just looking to get rid of it without it going to the landfill.
Respectfully,
James

I keep them to use as backups and/or lend to friends/visitors.

I currently dive with a Perdix AI, Descent Mk1 and a Oceanic Atom 3.0.

see if the local university has a college dive club. they would likely take the veo 180nx to train their students with.

That 180nx isn't a bad unit if you are not having battery door issues. I still use one occasionally. Fine for recreational diving... Sell/donate to help someone out.

@dirkhh might be interested in them. Ensuring downloading dives from old computers is functioning with Subsurface is sometimes an issue .

I have a box full of antiques. About 10 or so. All working. Anyone want one, let me know.
