I did check the Belize service. I saw this:
WINDS: NW 15-25KT . SEAS: ROUGH . WAVES: 5-8FT

Heh, not likely - I was posting here for a sanity check. I'm seeing web-based numbers but there's nothing like a dose of reality to help ease my concern. Of course this stuff changes day by day, moment by moment, and there's nothing we can do but arrive and see what the conditions are. Hopefully it will be mild enough to allow us too get underwater without getting to queasy top side.

It won't be dead calm, and for some timid divers it might be a bit too rough, but really it's usually highly diveable here. I ran a beginners' course a few days ago and we all had a bit of a struggle getting back on the boat. But the students loved it and underwater conditions were just fine, albeit with some surge at shallower unprotected sites.
