Get a couple of friends and save yourself some money:

I've used these many times. Excellent quality.

What do you mean 'a couple of friends?' I ordered one of the 'maxed bag' sets from Nix, and will probably be ordering another one soon, all by my lonesome. There are SO many uses for boltsnaps you can never have enough. :D

Well, the guy was just starting out and I didn't want to scare him away!

Maybe he could find them cheaper in the Phillipines.

What is the shipping from the U.S. $20 ?

When I lived in Japan, there were some fixed price USPS envelopes that go over seas for pretty cheap. If you have a friend here in the states, have the packages shiped to them and then have them forward it on to you. Probably a cheaper alternative.

Just a thought.

more expensive here as everything is imported. average double enders cost $10 and boltsnaps $9 shipping would cost more.

Have you checked diver's point. when i was there the SS boltsnaps cost $2 a piece iirc, though they were probably slightly smaller than what I got in the US, but still good enough for backups imo when not wearing gloves.

Here's a pic. The snap on the left is from tech diving limited - i think most of their snaps are that size except for the ring at the end. the other two are from diver's point, they cost me 75 and 60 pesos, respectively. i also included an AA cell in the pic to give you an idea of the size.
