I am also looking to purchase a sidemount rig. Nomad XT or Razor 2 batwing are the two choices I have come up with.
I am cold salt water ,open water, wreck, drysuit and dry gloved, weight carrying, 1-2 alu deco bottles, steel lp 95's or hp 100's if i bust up doubles.
I am also old and have back troubles which have led me to want to sidemount
Although I have made my own harness which can accommodate the Batwing bladder I am not entirely convinced nor assured that it will be appropriate for diving where and as i do. I love the simplicity of the Razor harness but need a system that works for the diving I do. The original Nomad with modifications appears to have many people using it successfully with heavy gear.
Any objective help regarding either system in this application would be greatly appreciated as I would like to start diving sidemount soon.
