Currently, an old-style Sherwood Brut on a 5 foot primary, Sherwood Octo bungeed around my neck.

Next week, it will a DS4 first stage with a TX40 on the 5 foot, and another TX40 around my neck.

ScubaPro Mk25/S600 with an old G250 as backup. It's a great setup that works flawlessly. I also use my R190 as a backup since it's unbalanced.

Aqua-Lung Conshelf XIV 1st&2nd Stage
- still using it

Poseidon Jestream 1st&2nd Stage
- is in the store now

Apeks TX100 1st&2nd Stage
- Currently using it :D

Is funny .. some DV works better at depth

:doctor: any comment?

I have 2 regs.

AUSD SEA4 w/AquaLung Octo
Apeks ATX200/ATX40 Octo

I've been useing my ATX 200 for most of my diving now. I like that it has a smaller, lighter second stage. I can't tell much dif in the breathing at any depth (almost all of my dives are under 70' 30'-50' is avg.) but I have noticed that I use less air and have a better SAC rate with my ATX 200.

I use a Poseidon Odin/Jetstream. Easy breathing, no free flows, it vents bubbles away to the side of your face, you can breathe it easily in any position - I love the thing.

I own/use a TX-100 with a TX-40 as my back-up. Very happy with it.

I just bought my first camera this past weekend and haven't tried it underwater yet, so I can't really comment on bubble interference when it comes to photography. That being said, the exhaust "T" seems wide and I don't notice bubbles getting in my face.

I don't think you will go wrong with either model. Personally, I don't always like buying the "latest and greatest" model....since these are the ones most subject to recall. The TX-100 has been around longer...thus it is more of a "tried and true" model.

Other things to look at: look at the first stages as it relates to hose routing. I think they are pretty similar, but it's worth looking at. How do the purge buttons feel -- are both easy to use? If you were to be sharing air.....do you want a smaller second stage (I donate my primary) or slightly larger? Are there any differences in the adjustment controls on the second stages?

Good luck!
