Hi All,
Just wondering what regulators you're using and what you like and dislike about them. I've read everything I can in the regulator forum, but I really want the womans' perspective. Thanx! I eagerly await the input, Ron

I've been diving since my very first OW dives with a Scubapro R380 as my primary and a R190 as octopus.

they are probably a bit outdated, but they suit me well enough.

Scubapro MK10 with 2 G200 regulators. She's old but breathes like a dream no matter how much air is in the tank. She also doesn't care if I'm right side up or upside down!

My current reg is a Mares Abyss with an Axis Octo. I really like the way it breathes, regardless of orientation or depth. So far I've had it to 55F, 110' with no problems. The only "con" I have with this reg is the short exhaust T that occasionally makes bubble interference a bit of a problem. However, I understand most "high performance" regs have this type of exhaust, so...

Prior to that I used a Sherwood Blizzard with a Brut Octo for about 10 years. No bubble interference, good in all orientations. However, despite it being a balanced reg, you could sometimes over-breathe it at depth.

Are you thinking of buying one for a woman? If so, you really should let her pick it out herself.
I have the Oceanic Delta II. The SeaCURE mouth piece is the best. Be sure to use that with any Reg.

Hi all,
I appreciate everyone's input! Sub's comment about the small exhaust T on her reg is something I also wonder about. This is one of the reasons I am considering the Apeks TX100. Have any of you used this one, or had a chance to compare to the new ATX models (lacks the large T)? Do many of you have issues with bubble interference? As I mentioned, I've been scouring the regulator board a lot; but as a woman, :) , I am hoping for more female input into my decision. Please Keep it coming! Thanks, Ron/Rhonda

I've been using the ATX 50 for the last several months now and I'm quite happy. It's smaller than the TX 50 and a bit lighter (which is always nice) and it provides comfortable breathing.
It's been used in both warm and cold water and has been very smooth.

I use an Apeks ATX 200, with an ATX 50 as my alternate second stage. I like the regulator a lot. It breathes easy regardless of depth or position/orientation.

The Apeks does sometimes give some bubble interference, but I haven't found a reg that doesn't. Most of the time I don't notice it.

I never really thought of regulators being a piece of scuba equipment that would have special fit/use considerations for women, other than possibly the mouthpiece. While I could easily rant and rave for hours about my trials and tribulations of finding wetsuits, drysuits, and a BCD to fit someone with my body shape, the regulator never seemed to pose a problem for me. Were there specific aspects of regulator use that you wanted female perspectives on?
