in regard to scuba equipment, more money rarely gets anything more than a thinnner wallet and a bigger ego.

OK, a little bit of a generalisation, but I think we all agree that cost does not necessarily equal quality.

Well as others have said already you want to focus on what you need first and then move from there. if you dive cold you are going to want a environmentally sealed 1st stage and then also a 2nd stage designed for cold water. Some of the features that come on them are nice as well as heat sinks and stuff for ice diving. Also most of them do now days but also make sure that the reg will support nitrox but there are a few out there that might not.

i personally dive a Zeagle Flathead VI. they are running a good deal on them through Scubatoys as this is the top of the line Zeagle now for around 400 bucks... it breathes pretty easy and has all the features that I need for my diving.

just my input.

The Titan LX has the heat sink, has an enviro kit that is optional as is a DIN fitting. Only limitation is that it only has one HP port so those who like to have both a silly transmitter that will fail or get broken off and so therefore need a spg as well, well, then you might be out of luck.

The Titan LX is also as adjustable as the Legend LX--you just need to take the cover off by the venturi adjust lever and use a hex key... Simple procedure to adjust your breathing--you just can't do it while you're diving. Great reg for little $$$.

Learned the above in an Equipment Specialty course--Good basic knowledge to have, especially if you're not an equipment junkie but like to know how things work...... I would recommend this reg--it's what I dive, and I don't see the need for the second high pressure port...

Sherwood and Zeagle

My wife and son dive sherwoods other than service problems thye have been good regs.

My zeagles have been great. DS V and Envoy.

Atomic Aquatics T2. $1500
Atomic Aquatics ST1 $899
Atomic Aquatics B2 $725
Atomic Aquatics Z2 $439

Always start with the best when considering your dive gear purchase.

I love my Apeks XTX 50... I honestly believe that if you dive any other reg, you will DIE! ;)

Titan LX, breathes very well, bullet-proof, easy to service, parts avalible world-wide. Last three points are important when traveling and it's why we chose them.
