There's a couple of threads on this subject already floating around, but....Dive Training is a very good one (you'll see it recommended alot)

Dive Training

Undercurrent

Those are 2 of the best ones that I know of. Of course, you can get most of the same info here on the boards, but you don't get the lively discussion!

Here is a poll done in this forum just this week---->

BTW, the reason you can't find "Skin Diver" is because it went out of business last fall--final issue was in Dec.

Best regards.

This probablyiisn't the right thread so sorry, but does anyone know about any good scuba magazines besides Rodales? I'm a reading junky and I don't get in the water as much as I'd like. I can't find anything on Skin Diver anymore and just need some more material.

You can register for the free subscriptons also, the magazines are supported by advertisers for the most part but the price is right and they often have the best local info...

Southwest diver

Florida SCUBA news

Dive training

Advanced diver magazine has some interesting stuff online, might be worth checking out...

Immersed is a good one

Underwater - is a commercial diver magazine

Sea technology - International marine industry (some diving, mostly technology)

The one in Arizona? Expensive but the quality of the print and paper is immpressive... (with babe of the month or something in there?)

The first is "Immersed", it's an international dive magazine, and is published by Immersed, LLC, P.O. Box 638, Chester NY USA 10918-0638. Web Site is www.immersed.com It is a quarterly publication and yearly subscription costs $19.95 per year in US Dollars to the USA $24.95 to Canada in US Dollars.

The second I receive is "diver", this is a Canadian publication, and is published by Seagraphic Publications Ltd. P.O. Box 1312, Delta BC CANADA V4M 3Y8. Web Site is www.divermag.com It is published 8 times per year and yearly subscription costs $18.00 per year in Canadian Dollars to Canada $25.00 to the US in Canadian Dollars.

Both are good reading and are read cover to cover when they arrive.
Hope this helps...

The big mags are nice, but seem to be travel brochures first. I've found the short, informative articles in DAN's "Alert Diver" to be more beneficial. "Dive Training" is also good. JMHO.

It looks like yet another dive magazine has been spawned due to the rift at British publication 990 Magazine (http://www.deepimage.co.uk/home_pages/stenmar.htm). BEYOND THE BLUE is being published by a former 990 staffer, and it looks like he dragged a lot of the technical diving talent from 990 as well.

They are offering a FREE trial issue as well - check this link on Leigh's website:
http://www.deepimage.co.uk/home_pag...offer.htm#ISSUE

Also, the premier issue of WRECK DIVING magazine will be available at the end of this month. This magazine is devoted entirely to wreck diving (no purty fish!), so it should be interesting. Articles in the first issue include those from Gary Gentile, Leigh Bishop, Cris Kohl, and yours truly. Check it out:
http://www.wreckdivingmag.com/

Divers Ocean Planet (http://www.diversmag.com) is a good magazine as well, one that focuses on the fun in diving and avoids articles of repetitious subjects that plague other magazines.

Cheers,
Mike

WOW! I've done a lot of internet searches for dive mags and haven't heard of a lot of these. I'm a DAN member so I already get Alert Diver. Can't wait to check some of these out. Thanks again all this is great.
