Everything other than "Dive Training" has turned me off. Way too much foofy crapola..

Although, as of late, DT has been getting a lil foofy (my own word for "printed infomercial" ) and I can live without the monthly "Paychecks in paradise" bulltwinkie ad.

Rodales is usefull when you run out of TP, Skindiver DITTO. *shrugs*

Since the final issue of "Skin Diver" was mailed in Nov of last year, I'm assuming that you have a stash of old editions in the loo.

BTW, I do not agree that Undercurrent, which accepts no advertising of any type and therefore carries no infomercial type material, contains way too much "foofy crapola." I find it germane, focussed & brutally honest.

Best regards.

I'm amazed that Divers Ocean Planet hasn't been mentioned.

Not only is it, IMO, the most interesting, well written, and conscientious publication... it's also got nearly naked diver chics in it.

Have subscriptions to Rodales and Dive Training. Rodales was the first mag I started reading trying to gain knowledge about the different gear manufacturers. Picked up Dive Training while getting certified.

I find both of them to be to travel related for my tastes. I liked the earlier version of Rodales, now they seem to cater to those who can afford to travel. I cannot since I have paid for my son and I to get certified and purchased both of our gear set-ups this year. We also took a couple of local dive trips here in Michigan. I would like to see the mags profile more of the local diving as I would travel a couple of hours over a weekend to do some diving.

Now I spend way to many hours here researching answers for things that I would like to learn about.

Mitten Diver

Diver . It's a British mag, so it will have some stuff that's not relevant to US diving. Good (and honest) kit reviews, and a lot of it is available online too :)

Dive Training magazine is the best magazine out there, IMHO. Rodales has become nothing but a big mecca for advertisers.

Welcome to a wonderful new sport......you will meet some of the most wonderful people in the world.

Why would one pay to subscribe to Dive Training when most dive shops have a stack of them on the counter available to their customers for free.

I just stopped at a shop in Sacramento and picked up the last two month's issues today, as a matter of fact.

This probablyiisn't the right thread so sorry, but does anyone know about any good scuba magazines besides Rodales? I'm a reading junky and I don't get in the water as much as I'd like. I can't find anything on Skin Diver anymore and just need some more material.
