I would say my snorkel. Used it in training,,,, never really since... but it's the law where I live to have one at all times...

Loyal as I am to this British firm I have to admit to yet another expensive purchase that "was a good idea at the time".

Sadly in practice it did not live up to expectation.

The idea is that this is the ideal setup for a stage regulator because it is less weight - and less cost - than a cylinder valve and standard regulator.

I have now given up trying to use it on my 3l oxygen stage bottle and have fitted a normal cylinder valve and ordered a standard Nitrox DS1 (which has one HP and one LP outlet) and a TX40 second stage.

I couldn't even make use of the first stage barrel because it does not have an HP port!

What went wrong?
  1. The body of the first stage repeatedly unscrewed causing leakage during the dive.
  2. Charging was a pain because an adaptor has to be used. I kept forgetting it!
  3. The one-way valve in the charging port kept jamming shut preventing refilling.
  4. The Sentinal second stage provides a salt water spray with each breath.
    [/list=1]
I really do not know why I put up with it for two years! I suppose I did not want to admit being wrong as - in theory at least - the idea is a very good one.

I haven't seen one of these , bit surely it would count as pretty useless.

Has anyone here ever actually tried one of these things?

How about a camera that is rated to 60 ft, but can't take a picture below 30 because the pressure keeps the button "depressed" all the time.

too funny. blew through 36 exposures and didn't even know it. Got one fuzzy pic of my dive buddy, then 35 other blurry useless pix of the cam swinging on my arm, fireing away.

I totally forgot about that... I have those printed some place, oit was so lame.

Let me guess...Roadales?

Every once in a while they have a decent article, but for the most part the magazine is not helpful at all. You can always find a ton of errors and see people with some of the most outrageous gear ever designed.
