Yes yes yes - its all well and good to encourage the kids to read - but Fantasy for crying out loud..? That mind-rot? The young ones should all be clustered around a good Hemmingway, Kafka or Dostoevsky....

nothing wrong with fantasy..... anything to get the kids to open a book first and then see where their interest takes them

By the way... just because I'm not into H.P. doesn't mean I don't think others should be. Diversity of interests within a population is a good thing... another example of biodiversity.
 
I'm into watching Mozart's Don Giovanni opera. :D
