Going crazy waiting for the boat that was delivered to shop 3 weeks ago and promised to be ready a week ago. My scallop beds miss me.

About 2 days after you go out and buy a new boat. That's average.

Very true but I can't afford a new boat and love the current one.

Very true but I can't afford a new boat and love the current one.

Guess that means you must do one of 2 things:

1. Learn fiberglass repair -- or

2. Learn small engine repair.

Of course, I do neither of these things, but fiberglass is on my list for next week.

there is no way the words "love" and "boat" go together in the same sentence, unless the words "get rid of" are somewhere included.
Again, very true but.... I really do love my boat when it works properly and I am using it to fish or dive. The rest of the time it is a bottomless hole in the ocean that sucks my wallet dry and causes non-stop stress/sleepless nights/marital discord/visual reminders of misspent funds.

So, anyone looking for a boat?

They maybe just really busy. When I asked at my LDS the time frame that I would get my gear back from being serviced he said "Between March and June give us 2 to 3 weeks. The rest of the year, a week at the most."
I work at a marina that has a repair shop and we are swamped the same months with people wanting their boats checked out post winter. In the spring time our parking lot will be full of boats on trailers waiting their turns. I have people who want to bring their boat in 3 days before Memorial Day weekend and want it back the next day.

Except for the following:
I asked him months ago when to bring it in and he chose the date. He called me the day before and confirmed that he wanted it the agreed upon day. I brought it the day he chose.
He looked at the entire boat weeks beforehand and figured out what it needed. He then gave me the 4-5 day time estimate.
By his own admission, he hasn't even ordered the parts or done anything besides power wash it.
No real work has been done to it and he says that he hasn't found any unforeseen issues or problems.

So, getting a bit unhappy. I called him this afternoon and the latest is "Well, we might have it running by the end of next week". Not sure how he could possibly know that since he hasn't even taken the cover off the motor since he got it but...who knows.

He's got his mojo tuned in to these things. You can't possibly expect to understand it , you are just the schlub who owns the damned thing.

You silly, silly SOB, you probably expect to get your dive gear back,in perfect working order and on time, from your LDS,

So very sad.
