What is the best Regulator and Primary to buy currently. I am fairly new to diving so sorry for such a general question.:14:

Well you are not the first to ask this question. Welcome to ScubaBoard and good luck on getting the information you need.
ScubaPro Regs are pretty good and come with free service parts for life when maintained anually.

General answer: Atomic...

Next: ScubaPro & Apeks.

True but it is also true that "Aqua Lung Regs are pretty good and come with free service parts for life when maintained anually"

I'm sure this is true for other brands too. The real answer is there is no "Best". If there was a clear answer abut which was best why would anyone best any other reg? Clearly each diver who buys a reg thinks he is buying the best one for his use. So there are 100 "best" regs.

The way to select ne is
1) Make sure the brand can be serviced locally hopefully by more then one shop so you are not tied to them for life
2) Make sure the reg is suited to your usage. Some breath well but don't stand up to the abuse of beach diving and sand and surf. You ned to decide what is important to you.
3) the pric fits your budget.

When it comes right down to it any top name brand with a balanced 1st and balanced 2nd stage will be very good and there is not that much difference between them.

and I should have added this  to my post too

As if anything personal opinion and choice Poseidon and Apex for me, then Atomic. Here comes the big can of worms

Hello dlndavid,

I sent you a PM last month re o-rings. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

thank you,

couv

Unless you have some specific technical need that drives you to a specialized regulator, just get an Atomic B2 and be done with it. Wish I had the first time around.

scubapro and Apeks fans, I recommend Apeks ATX 200 and MK25/S600
Welcome to :sblogo:
