Someone said to me the other day that he was going to buy a rebreather and learn it himself, which I clarified to mean no training from a qualified instructor.

Being a new ccr diver this seemed a rather quick path to euthanize one’s self, and it got me thinking.

What is more dangerous

Rebreather diving with no training

Or cave diving with no training.

Welcome your thoughts and rationale.
I’m not endorsing either, I think both are insane,

More Dangerous for $800, Alex.

What is cave diving on a rebreather with no training (on either)?

Us humans can’t do comparatives for “infinite” values 🥲😅
I’ll leave the answer to the collective “AGI” (42)

Ok I’ll bite; walk us through hypothetical scenarios for both, what experience (actual training and after training dives) they got; what conditions they’ll “self learn” in?

Very off topic, seems the last few started threads in the rb sub forum have been continuously raising the stakes, uninterrupted streak of notifications)except for replies on older thread) keep upping the ante on the dangers of involved scenarios

Everyone up for the end of the world and going FAFO?
Edit: don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, just impressed, and in a very dark light— glad for the occasional comic relief

Wait. I'm gonna change my answer.

Definitely cave diving on a rebreather with no training off of a Red Sea livaboard.
