From a local Facebook page:

OP: "This was recovered on a dive in Lake Washington. I was useing the Garrett Seahunter Mark II. We believe that the straight piece is silver. Any ideas as to what this is???"

FYI, Lake Washington is adjacent to Seattle :)

Well....what the heck is this thing??! :)

Well it's only a few months old, can't be that hard to track down.. :p

Hello Curious Rambler,

I think it could be anything from 1520 to 1920, But I don't think it's 2020.

The head initials are MS, probably not MicroSoft

It's not encrusted, but it does look very old. the Initials, date script is also very old, done by hand by an old world silver smith.

No size comparison is indicated, maybe part of an old boatswain's whistle, note holes?

A beautiful keepsake, with very likely an amazing story attached to it...

Here's hoping the finder discovers just what that story is.

It’s cool, what it was when it had a use, can’t say, pens of the 20’s cane tops, pencil holder, whistle, the engraving style is reminiscent of a common style of that era.

I can't tell what size it is but could it be a key to wind a pocket watch?
